One name spells eternity,
the life of every dream,
swaying with the breeze
of meandering confusion
to survive every nightmare
of ever dwindling sleep.
One name stands tall
as proof
of the heart's longing
to continue beating
despite the everlasting distance
from then to now.
One name spells it all-
the reason for my being,
the existence which defies all meaning.
One name travels through time
in the chariot
of my heart's desires-
to continue the journey with me.

oh! i thought it was a pre-relationship thought.
now i guess it's a post relationship one.
and then again, someone said, what's in a name? :)
acid tongue:
keep guessing ;)
Phoenix:
i believe that every name is its own person.
those who say whats in a name are trying to find their self.isnt it?
oh ha ha ha...
nice..well everywhere here the name is written n dont knw y ppl asking the name..
name..unknown somewhere
in ashes of eyes they stare
its jst symphony of self being
callous wishes and a golden ring
@ phoenix

"One name stands tall

beautiful. But what's then and now? :) 'one name' doesn't have an identity. That's about it.

Purple deepens:
then and now
is what was
and what is
let us leave it at this ;)
...'One name travels through time

of my heart's desires-

Keep it up!
and
Thanks for the visit on my blog :)
N
for a person who writes so well herself...i'll comsider ur comment as a compliment...thnx!
that was cute....:)
but a single name doesnt ever define you...
but I guess the motion of the house would suggest seconding Phoenix...
So A lawyer... Interesting. So do you tend to read the not so recent posts often???
Surjit:
Thank you!
Glad u visited :)
Rajeev:
Hope to hold your interest.
Thank you :D
Nothingman:
I did ask myself whether I am my name.
The answer that i got was that i am my name and a hundred million other things. but my name is me along with all those hundred million things.
Thats precisely why its unique.
Also, when i wrote the poem, I didnt intend for it to be about the writer's name ;)
But then again, once my poem has left my mind and my notepad, it becomes as much mine as it is of every reader. And it was only when u pointed out, I re-read it and i agree now-that it could have been taken for the writer's own name.
"to each his own."
:)
Glad u liked it.
Do come back!
Everything burns:
Thank you for your visit and your comment surely is a compliment ;)
Hope u come back.
Jeya:
Thank you for taking out time for my blog.
Glad u liked the poem :)
Priky:
The poem was not intended to be about the poet's own name.
But then ,"to each his own."
as i said to nothingman, I did ask myself whether I am my name.
The answer that i got was that i am my name and a hundred million other things. but my name is me along with all those hundred million things.
Thats precisely why its unique.
Well, i aint a lawyer, not yet.
I dont have any sorts of aversion to old posts or reading them, but once I find a Good one, I always leave a compliment :)
yours was truly amazing!
I like you poems too. They always seem to speak in subtle tones such understated agonies. ....Can't thank you enough for that 'heart-ballooning' comment on my officially first story. I hope the blogosphere provided more channels of communication...than just typing cmmnts at each others space.
And going by your catalog, I am sure u r one BIG fan of Mistry. I want to read him too...but oddly I can't find any e-books. If you have soem link , could u plz send em one.? I would be very grateful.
What's in a name:
I'm glad u liked my work-its a compliment on its own. you write amazingly well. and i was serious about the book
well u can communicate via my "shoutbox" in the right column, which is like instant messaging and not quiet so ;)
regarding mistry, well, i have almost completed reading all his works. his best ones would be family matters and a fine balance, you should start with either of the two.
dont miss reading him, he is too good. im sorry i dont have any e-book links :(
Jeya Anand:
Somehow im unable to open your blog :(
beautiful words...keep writing such stuff!
the lass:
with all the appreciation and encouragement from all of you guys, i'll try to keep writing :)
thank you for stopping by.
by the way whats your name?
"...despite the everlasting distance
from then to now."
The one name, it seems to matter so much doesn't it. It seems to be the everything you could ever want to hear.
But, pta nahi. After some time, and after a few bad things hav happened, you start hating the same name.
Oblique skeptic:
yes, there are names that become "irrelevant" with time. they kind of occupy the back seat of our thoughts and memories, but then they dont become "the" name or more adequately, that "one" name and thats the telling thing!
nice blog...!!
lova ya
